We're Back!
It's been over a week since my last post. Our computer had a virus and it took forever to get it back. A week without a computer sucks! Here's what the kids have been up to....
Who needs to store wine when you have a child who fits inside the wine rack?
Ben has also been hard at work. He likes to climb on our desk and talk on the phone ( the computer mouse), while typing important documents on Daddy's work computer.
You can often find Ben in the bathroom. He likes to open the door, climb on the toilet, climb onto the countertop, grab his toothbrush and brush his teeth!

Family Fun
Today the hubby and I decided to play hooky from work and take advantage of the nice day! With his busy travel schedule and crazy busy weekends, we don't take enough time to get out and do things just the four of us. So we packed up the kids and took a trip to the city. We started our day at the Shedd Aquarium.
The kids loved looking at all of the different fish and water creatures. Sydney thought the dolphins were the coolest things. She would get so excited every time they swam close to the glass.
Then we decided to venture out to Greek Town to our favorite restaurant, The Parthenon.
We enjoyed an amazing lunch and so did the kids.
And what would a trip to the city be without stopping for cupcakes? Our last stop was Sweet Mandy B's for Banana Cupcakes, yum!
We had an amazing day just us! We realized that we need to have these family fun days more often and just treasure the times we have together. Our precious children will grow up before we know it!

Mother's Day Recap
It's been 3 crazy, nonstop days! I wanted to tell about our fun filled Mother's Day weekend before I crash! It all started on Friday night, when I decorated an Elmo cake for our bbq we were having Saturday night. We had my mom and grandma over for dinner, and I knew the kids would LOVE an Elmo cake. This was the first time that I had decorated my own cake. I think it turned out pretty well. I definitely need to practice tinting icing. It is pretty tricky to get the exact color you want (or I am too picky). Here is the finished product:
Saturday morning I was surprised by the hubby with a massage appointment. It was just what I needed....50 minutes of pure bliss!! When I got home, it was back to work. I prepared for our company and baked Red Velvet Cupcakes for another bbq we had tonight at the in-laws.
Today we spent the day at Independence Grove (a local forest preserve). The weather could not have been more perfect! There was a huge playground and the kids loved it!
I have to say that I am feeling especially blessed this year! Although it was a very hectic weekend, I was surrounded by all of the mom figures I have in my life and my wonderful hubby and kids. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day as well!

Another Art Mishap
This is going to be a short post, because I know that the pictures I posted below will explain everything!
Here's what happened today when Sydney got a hold of some markers.....
Something tells me that this is NOT going to be easy to clean up!

Spring!
It finally feels like spring outside! With the warmer weather and sunshine, there are fun events all over the place. Today we decided to venture out to Long Grove Chocolate Fest. There were tons of tents set up with vendors and little activities for the kids.
Sydney and Ben got balloon animals in the shape of puppy dogs.
They ran around listening to the music and enjoying the spring flowers!
And of course, what would Chocolate Fest be without any chocolate!
What fun things did you do this weekend to enjoy the spring weather?
